Help us Replace Our Stolen Equipment
Today, the Las Fotos Project staff received upsetting news. Unfortunately, our space was burglarized last night. While we are still assessing the extent of the losses, we can confirm that all the cameras, lenses, and studio equipment used in our creative career training program, CEO, and social enterprise were stolen. Additionally, our backyard fence and backdoor were damaged and will need to be repaired.
This incident is a devastating loss as the stolen equipment is integral to our students’ daily activities, including on-the-job learning at photography gigs, studio classes, and personal passion projects. The equipment taken is not readily accessible to communities like ours, and our students’ ability to freely access and utilize this equipment is crucial for their success as creative entrepreneurs and artists.
Our space has long been a haven for our students and community members, who often express feeling safe and empowered to create within its walls. Spaces like ours are rare in their lives, and the violation of this space is deeply saddening. While our team is shaken and heartbroken, we remain confident that, with the support of our community, we will overcome this adversity.
At this time, we ask for collective support to replace the equipment that may not covered by insurance and to support with repairs. We have set a fundraising goal of $75,000 for this purpose.
Please help with a meaningful gift at this time. You can also support us by buying the equipment from this list, which will help us continue our work.
Thank you!
The Entire Las Fotos Project Team
